Our Story

We are a movement.

We are an emerging community of yogis, activists, community builders and allies working to reclaim yoga as an inclusive and liberatory practice.

We centre offerings by and for Global Majority folks, queer, trans and non-binary people, activists, healers and careworkers. We create spaces where practice can be reclaimed, shared and co-created.

Beyond yoga, we are building a community rooted in joy, learning, unlearning, mutual support and collective organising. We envision hosting workshops, poetry, music, celebrations, fundraising and other gatherings that support learning, connection and efforts to dismantle systemic oppression.

Our dream is to create an indoor community hub: a welcoming space to engage with yoga and other practices centred on collective liberation. If you have a space you could donate, share, offer for collaboration or would like to support this vision in another way, we would love to connect with you.

Meet the co-creators

Fairooz (they/them)

Marinated in London as a Bengali-Brit and a seasoned global spirit, Fairooz (they/them) moves between borders, weaving together practices of community building, creative education, and embodied wellness. Their work spans event curation and management, DJing and music production, radio host, yoga instruction, and creative mentorship for young migrants-all guided by a commitment to intersectional social justice and decolonial frameworks for the global majority. They are a part of Lama Rod Owen’s retreats team and a student in training with Radical Darshan.

Fairooz draws inspiration from their travels, infusing their work with global perspectives and cultural exchange. Beyond their professional endeavors, they find joy in feline companionship, making hot sauce, tapping into mycelium networks and exploring the spice-rich culinary traditions across the global south.

Their practice remains rooted in fostering collective liberation and nurturing spaces where transformative connections can flourish.

dilber (they/them)

They are a genderqueer human of Uyghur and Lithuanian heritage, raised between Kyrgyzstan and Lithuania. Their experiences of gendered violence, racism and systemic oppression have shaped a deep commitment to undoing the roles and expectations placed on us - and to returning to a more authentic self through trauma-aware, community-centred practice.

After seeing how often Western wellness spaces centre spiritual bypassing, cultural appropriation and a lack of accountability to source cultures and marginalised communities, dilber turned towards learning about decolonising wellness and human rights. Completing Radical Darshan’s 300h YTT and Facilitation for Trauma and Transformation with The OMPowerment Project was an important part of that journey, deepening their learning around trauma awareness, decolonising yoga, social justice, anti-oppression and intersectional equity.

dilber is quirky, loves making earrings, reading, dancing, gatherings friends at their home and long conversations. They’re always curious, always learning and always interested in questioning social norms and the conditions we live within.
